03 Jun 2020 The Winter Skin Blues
As winter approaches in Australia and we begin to experience colder, windier and drier weather, it’s important to re-evaluate your skincare regimen. Your skin may be experiencing a lack of moisture and radiance during this time of year. We’ve all been there. So, what can we do about it?
We’ve put together a few general tips and tricks, as well as a few product recommendations that can help you fix dry winter skin.
TIP #1. INVEST IN A HUMIDIFIER TO KEEP SKIN HYDRATED.
The air is dry enough outside already, so the last thing we want is for it to be dry inside as well. Placing a humidifier in your bedroom will increase the level of moisture in the air which aids in keeping the barrier of your skin healthy and hydrated.
To add an extra dose of much needed moisture, try our Hydration Booster. This product is especially helpful for dry, sensitive and reactive skin. Ingredients such as Vitamin A, Vitamin E and coenzyme Q10 fight free radical damage, while rosehip, jojoba and almond oils penetrate deeper epidermal layers. Add to your nighttime serum routine when your skin requires extra hydration.
TIP #2. DON’T SKIP YOUR SUNSCREEN!
Even though there may not be as much sun in the winter, and the UV rays may not be as strong, they are still there, which means you still need to protect your skin. Exposure can cause sun damage, discoloration, dark spots and wrinkles.
Make sure you include a broad-spectrum sunscreen into your daily routine. You can either opt to have SPF included in your moisturiser, or put it on afterwards – or both! Our Moisturiser with Sunscreen has SPF15+ broad-spectrum sun protection and is oil and paraben-free. For added sun protection, try our Dry Touch SPF 50 Sunscreen. Specifically made with a dry touch finish, this sunscreen has a smooth and silky texture and 4 hours of water resistance.
TIP #3. INCLUDE HYALURONIC ACID INTO YOUR ROUTINE.
Hyaluronic Acid is the key molecule that is responsible for retaining skin moisture and optimal skin health. It provides hydration while also promoting wound healing and collagen formation. Using this key ingredient in your skincare routine will make your skin appear younger and more dewy, which means your skin will be radiant even during the harsh winter months. Try our Hyaluronic B5 Serum, which will significantly improve your skin’s hydration levels and provide you with antioxidant protection.
